Event Details

The Northern Metropolis, described as 'a new engine for Hong Kong's future growth' is a key development project and an important Government priority to develop the northern part of Hong Kong, increasing land use for housing, industry and community facilities.

With new details of the plans recently published, AustCham is delighted to present a members-only breakfast with Mr Vic Yau, Director of the Northern Metropolis Co-ordination Office (NMCO) of the Development Bureau of the Government of the HKSAR, to update and discuss the latest proposals, priorities and plans for this ambitious project.


Attendees will also hear from Kathy Lee, Senior Director - Head of Research at Colliers.

    Director of Northern Metropolis Co-ordination Office

    Mr Yau joined the Administrative Service in July 1997 and rose to the rank of Administrative Officer Staff Grade B1 in April 2022. He has served in various bureaux and departments, including the Home Affairs Department, the former Home Affairs Bureau, the former Environment, Transport and Works Bureau, the Housing Department, the Chief Executive's Office and the Security Bureau. He was Deputy Secretary for Security from March 2016 to December 2018, Deputy Secretary for Development (Planning and Lands) from December 2018 to February 2023 and Director, Preparatory Office for Northern Metropolis since February 2023.
